Do you love poutine? Eating a scrumptious meal of fries and tasty, creative toppings between April 23rd – May 1st in Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria or Hamilton at a participating “Poutine with Purpose” restaurant means you are helping reduce youth hunger. How can you make a positive difference in your community?

Poutine with Purpose and Mealshare have come together to elevate the meaning behind eating out. Once a year, you can order one or more of the exciting poutines on the menu from a host of the participating restaurants in your city. For every Mealshare poutine consumed, their local charity partners then provide a meal to a youth in need.
In Calgary alone, there are far too many people that go without the necessary food to live a healthy life. With the loss of jobs due to COVID-19 and economic strains, it is an even more difficult year for families to keep food on the table. This is where you come in.
Do you love eating out and enjoy great poutine? Then let’s ban together to support each other in any way we can such as purchasing a poutine with purpose.
Starting as a fun social experiment in 2010 for her Word of Mouth Marketing class, Mount Royal University professor, Karen Richards created this unique way to help strengthen community. What is now known as “Poutine with Purpose” has grown into a full-blown food frenzy continuing to expand and help feed communities’ youth. With continued support from people like you, the goal is to end youth hunger forever.
A passion for food really can make a difference. Whether you own a restaurant taking part in this annual event or are a customer purchasing one of the poutines, you are helping prevent youth from suffering from malnutrition. When you order a poutine with purpose, you are not just eating delicious fries, gravy, and cheese curds but supporting those less fortunate than yourself.
To find out what delectable poutines are being offered this year, check out the Poutine with Purpose website. Your mouth will be watering as you read just the first few lines describing each of the delicious ingredients that go into the making of your next favourite poutine.

“I’m happy we’re back this year. I really want to support our friends in the restaurant industry as much as Mealshare. I am hoping this year’s event will give everyone something to look forward to.”
